Todd, driven to madness by the injustice of all the wrongs done to him and his family, teams up with Mrs Lovett and goes from an individual seeking revenge to a blood-thirsty serial killer.
Set in Fleet Street, London in 1725, Todd rented a shop in this haven for cut-throats, harlots and gin drinkers. Poverty and decadence was widespread. He engineers a trap door in his barbers shop from where his clients fell to their death. He meets up with Mrs Lovett and uses his victims as ingredients for her ‘pork and veal’ pies. At 12 o'clock every day, there was a rush by the locals to buy these delicious pies!
